The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2022 officially opens today (18th January 2022) at the ceremony graced by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Dr. THONG Khon, Minister of Tourism, Royal Government of Cambodia.
This edition of ATF marks the 40th anniversary of the pivotal travel trade platform for ASEAN and underscores Cambodia’s commitment as a critical stakeholder in the region’s tourism eco-system. Held at Sokha Beach Resort in Sihanoukville, the ATF will attract 350 participants from 27 countries and regions. Delegates include tourism leaders, officials, international buyers, exhibitors and media, including Unravel Travel TV. Trade visitors and passionate travellers from the tourism industry will also attend.
Official ASEAN NTOs Meetings, Tourism Ministerial Meetings, and Association Meetings where leaders discuss programmes and their implementation to foster the ASEAN Tourism Recovery for a more resilient future is well underway, having kicked off earlier in the week.
At the heart of ATF is TRAVEX, the annual ASEAN leisure travel trade fair showcasing the latest Southeast Asia travel experiences. Organised in a collaboration between M.P. Singapore and the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, TRAVEX features hoteliers, tour operators and travel agencies, national tourism boards, airline professionals, restaurateurs, attractions and theme park owners. High-quality meetings between buyers and sellers, both on-site and virtually, are aimed at making the right connections toward the resilience and recovery of the tourism sector in the region.
As one of the first in-person tourism events in Asia, the Organisers are committed to running ATF 2022 in a safe physical format. Stringent safeguards are in place. All attendees are required to take a rapid antigen test before entry, wear their masks at all times, and observe safe distancing.
Some 50 members of the media are attending the event. ATF 2022 is also supported by the following media: Official Show Daily – TTG Asia Media, Business & Leisure, DestinationAsien, Heavenly India, Heavenly Vietnam, MICE in Asia, Russian Travel Digest, Tourism-Insider, TourProfi, Travel Voice Japan, Travel Talk Asia, and Zhong Tian Travel Media and Unravel Travel TV.
