Chicago is the third-largest city in the United States and is renowned for its bold architecture. The city boasts an impressive skyline, being home to four of America’s tallest buildings: Willis Tower, Trump International Hotel & Tower, Aon Centre and John Hancock Centre.
Visitors to the Windy City can explore many of its world-class museums; take a trip to Millennium Park and get a picture with the iconic ‘Bean’ sculpture; eat the best Chicago-style pizza the city has to offer; and if you’re in time for St Patrick’s Day, see the Chicago River turn green.
Commenting today, Svanhvít Fridriksdóttir, Director of Communications at WOW air, said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer our Irish passengers more affordable travel to transatlantic destinations and to continue our mission to offer the lowest fares across the Atlantic.
“With its unique history and attractions, and the city’s deep ties to Ireland, it’s easy to see why Chicago appeals to Irish travellers. We’re delighted to add it to our route list and are pleased to be able to make the city more accessible than ever before.”
Chicago is the tenth U.S. destination to be connected to Ireland via Iceland since WOW air’s inaugural flight from Ireland in June 2015. The airline also flies, via Reykjavik, to New York, Boston, Washington DC, Toronto, Montréal, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Pittsburgh.
