The 2021 Irish Travel Agents Association Annual Conference (#ITAAinAlentejo) took place on Friday, 14 October 2021, in Évora, Alentejo, Portugal. Over 70 travel professionals travelled to the Alentejo region for the three-day event, where they stayed in the 4 star Vila Gale Évora Hotel. The itinerary included delegate transfers to and from Lisbon airport, golf, lunch and dinner venues, as well as a range of other activities. There was a special dinner for delegates on the day of the Conference, with a Gala Dinner on the last evening of the trip.
The theme of the conference was ‘Reboot, Restart, Now!’. Looking forward to current and emerging travel trends, the issue of sustainability, collaboration, partnership, and revitalising the travel industry in the wake of the pandemic were to the forefront. At the conclusion of the ITAA Conference weekend, Paul Hackett, President of the ITAA said “Our few days in Évora were very special. Great work went into providing an excellent social programme designed by our hosts, the Alentejo Tourism Office. A programme that was wholeheartedly enjoyed by the Irish visitors. Thank you for your hospitality.”
